Ali Violin Studio

Ali You(violin, beginner piano)

A Chinese native. Ali began studying violin at age 4 with her uncle, well-known teacher Dayu Su. She majored in violin performance as a student of Xiaowei Chen at the prestigious Renmin University in Beijing, graduating at the top of her class. She then completed a Masters Degree with Bayla Keyes at Boston University (where she won the Bach Prize) and completed Suzuki Training at the Hartt School of Music at Hartford University, CT.

Ali started to teach her first student at her uncle’s music school since 18 and kept teaching during her school time. While she graduate from BU, she already had plenty of experience of teaching. In 2017, Ali started to work at Wayland School of music as a music teacher. And at 2021, she worked as a orchestra director in Chelsea public schools. 

As a performer, Ali has played with the orchestras of the National Ballet of China and the National Grand Theater on Beijing; and in the US with the Cleveland Orchestra at the Blossom International Festival.

Harriet Hung(piano, piano accompaniment)

Harriet Hung has been a valued member of Ali’s Echo since 2017, providing beautiful and reliable piano accompaniment for student performances and lessons.

She holds a Master’s degree from the Longy School of Music and is originally from Taiwan. Harriet brings a calm, patient presence to every rehearsal, and is known for her attentiveness and quiet dedication to helping each student sound their very best.

With years of experience collaborating with musicians of all levels, Harriet is not only a skilled pianist, but also a deeply supportive musical partner to both students and teachers. Her playing brings out confidence, warmth, and expression in every performance.

Yicheng Shia (violin)

Yicheng Shia is an accomplished violinist and dedicated educator with over a decade of teaching experience across Taiwan and the United States. He currently teaches at Quincy Public Schools and multiple studios throughout the Boston area, including IP Piano School and Union Lesson Studio. His private studio includes students ranging from age 8 to 30, and his teaching style blends strong technical foundations with expressive musicality and personalized growth.

Yicheng holds a Master of Music and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance at Boston University. He brings a warm, structured, and collaborative energy to every lesson, helping students discover their own unique voice through the violin.
